The Riverside County
Youth Commission is a group of young people who are involved
in community affairs throughout the County. The Commission
was launched in 1998 by Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
The Five Youth
Commissioners are appointed by the County Board of Supervisors
to represent five County Supervisorial districts.
Meetings are held
year round except for summer. All of the members of the Commission
attend a weekend retreat in August where they are introduced
to the Commission's issues and procedures.
The five Commissioners
are guided by County legislative staff and Interns. The Commission
reviews active issues in Riverside County, as well as, specific
issues directed by the County Board of Supervisors.
